Quarter-final clash rescheduled

The All-Ireland Club SFC quarter-final between Crossmaglen Rangers and Neasden Gaels of London has been re-fixed for January 16.

The game will go ahead in Ruislip five weeks after it was initially scheduled, with adverse weather causing fixtures chaos and delaying the Ulster final until last weekend, when the Armagh champions beat Glenties of Donegal.

Meanwhile, Ulster Council president Aogan Farrell has ruled out the possibility of a re-vamp of the fixtures calendar to avoid further weather-induced fixtures chaos.

"It's not possible (to alter the calendar), because when does winter set in? Last year, winter set in badly in the middle of January, and continued to right to the end of February. This year, winter set in badly in early December," said Farrell.

"So are we to sit down and say we can't play at certain times because the weather might be bad?"
