Queen’s blown away at Celtic Park

Derry made short work of an inexperienced Queen’s side to run out easy winners at Celtic Park.

Queen’s made a great start with three unanswered points from frees from Joe Ireland and Conal McGovern after twelve minutes, but Derry hit back and reeled off five points, Seamus Bradley from frees and Andrew McCartney on target with two points each.

Ten minutes from half time Brian Cox burst through to lash a low shot to the net but Kevin O’Neill responded in the last minute of the half when he rose high in the goalmouth to fist the ball to net.

Derry hit five points on the restart from Fergal Doherty, sub Eoin Bradley, Kielt and Mark Lynch with two scores to take control of the game.

Midway through the half Eoin Bradley drove the ball to the goalmouth, the keeper fumbled and Seamus Bradley pounced to tap the ball to the unguarded net.

Joe Diver added a third goal as Derry ran out commanding winners, Raymond Wilkinson grabbing the fourth in the final minute.
