Rogers not likely to start in final

Down manager James McCartan has indicated that his skipper Ambrose Rogers will not start Sunday's All-Ireland SFC final against Cork.

Rogers is recovering from a knee injury which saw him miss the semi-final win over Kildare, but is likely to play the role of impact sub in the decider.

"With 10 or 15 minutes to go, we might need a lift and if he's fit and able, we'll look in Ambrose's direction," said McCartan.

Peter Fitzpatrick, who deputised for Rogers against Kildare, is set to once again partner Kalum King in midfield.
