Super McAnespie strikes as Vale cruise

Monaghan champions Emyvale cruised into the Junior final with a comfortable win over 14-man Annaghmore at the Athletic Grounds.

The tone was set after just 16 seconds when man of the match Ryan McAnespie goalled with a low shot and although Ciaran Mac Iomhair and Michael McQuade registered for Annaghmore, Daniel McMahon registered two frees either side of a Conor McCann score.

Annaghmore scored two points from Oisin Mac Iomhair and McCann to tie the match on 39 minutes. However, two minutes before that, Micheal McConville had been shown a second yellow card and the numerical supremacy began to take effect for Emyvale.

McMahon and two from McAnespie in the space of two minutes put a goal between the sides before the lively McAnespie registered twice more.

A pair of late frees put the icing on the cake for a fully deserved win for Declan Brennan's side.
