As someone with a deep devotion to Peter Hook's doom-laden bassline that lays down the groove to the New Order stomp of the same name, I always get slightly excited when I hear or read of the phrase 'Blue Monday'.

Usually, there is a sickening feeling when it becomes apparent it is not indeed an item on Barney, Gillian, Hooky and the Krautrock dependency of Stephen Morris, but in fact the hardy newspaper perennially explaining the phenomenon of the third Sunday of the year when it's tipping down with rain, your wallet is empty and all around you is misery on an Angela's Ashes scale.
