Tipp chief calls for rule change

Newly elected Tipperary football board chairman Noel Morris has called for the abolition of the rule which limits board officers to five-year terms.

His comments follow the exit of long-serving county secretary Eddie Lonergan, who has been forced to stand down after 23 years in the position.

"I feel the GAA will have to look at this rule because people of the calibre of Eddie Lonergan are very scarce on the ground," he said.
