Tipperary club want venue change

A club in Tipperary wants the Munster senior and minor hurling finals to be played at Semple Stadium every year.

Loughmore-Castleiney has submitted a motion for the annual county convention calling for the Thurles stadium to become the permanent venue for the showpiece provincial deciders.

The recently modernised Semple has a 53,500 capacity, but the Munster Council is set to develop Pairc Ui Chaoimh in Cork into a 50,000 all-seater stadium, while Limerick's Gaelic Grounds can also accommodate 50,000 spectators.
