By Paddy Hunter

Three Ulster teams will feature in this years TG4 all Ireland ladies finals day at Croke Park later this month after a hectic weekend of semi-final action saw Tyrone, Fermanagh and Derry progress.

Tyrone booked their place in the intermediate final accounting for Sligo by eight points at Kingspan Breffni on Saturday, a palmed goal just on half time from Niamh O'Neill pulled Tyrone three points clear before a watertight Red Hand defence kept Sligo at bay. Grainne Rafferty, Emma Hegarty and O'Neill kept the scoreboard ticking over for an impressive Tyrone who now face Tipperary on the back of their 1-16 to 0-11 win

Meanwhile, a last-gasp point from defender Aishling Maguire edged Fermanagh over the line in their junior semi-final with London. A pulsating tie looked to have passed the Erne girls by as London led as the full time whistle loomed but they took the game to extra time with a Nuala McManus goal, Fermanagh rallied again in extra time to snatch the win 1-24 London 3-17

Fermanagh will play Derry now in the final after substitute Eimear O'Doherty landed the winning point late in a low scoring affair with Carlow. It finished 0-6 to 0-5 Carlow having late chances to take the game to extra-time as Derry hung on.
