Walsh doubtful for final

Kilkenny defender Tommy Walsh is a serious injury doubt for next month's All-Ireland SHC final against Tipperary.

Walsh injured his shoulder during a senior league game between his club Tullaroan and James Stephens at the weekend.

He collided with his county colleague Jackie Tyrrell during the second half, but played on before being replaced 10 minutes from the end.

Walsh was taken to hospital for tests and subsequently travelled to Wexford to undergo a cryotherapy treatment at the same facility which treated Henry Shefflin and Brian Hogan last week.

Shefflin has been ruled out of the decider by a knee injury, while skipper Hogan remains a major doubt with a shoulder problem.
