Walsh expected to be fit for final

Kilkenny have received a boost with news that Tommy Walsh is likely to be fit for the all-Ireland SHC final against Tipperary.

X-rays have revealed no serious damage to the shoulder injury in a club game at the weekend.

The results confirmed that while he damaged the AC joint in his left shoulder, he should recover in time for next month's decider as the Cats go for a fifth successive title.

Skipper Brian Hogan remains a doubt with a shoulder injury, while ace attacker Henry Shefflin has been ruled out by a damaged knee.
