Walsh sticks to his guns

Cork hurling boss Denis Walsh is sticking by his decision to drop Sean O hAilpin from his squad, despite a direct appeal being made to him by a delegation of Cork players recently.

A number of Cork players have urged manager Denis Walsh to reconsider his decision to drop Sean Og O hAilipin from his squad.

A delegation of players met with the manager, who insisted he is sticking by his call, according to The Sunday Independent.

Walsh said the decision had been made purely for hurling reasons.

O hAilpin's younger brother Aisake has already quit the panel in protest at the axing of the experienced defender.
