Weather hits Dr McKenna Cup

All six Dr McKenna Cup games scheduled for this weekend have been postponed due to frozen pitches.

And the Ulster Council has decided not to re-fix the games for midweek, deciding instead to reallocate them to the weekend of 22/23 January, the dates set aside for the semi-finals.

Even the Cavan v QUB tie, due to have been played on the new synthetic 3G pitch at Breffni Park on Saturday has fallen victim to the latest spell of severe weather.

Also off were the floodlit games between Fermanagh and UUJ and Brewster Park, and Down and St Mary's at Pairc Esler.

Sunday's Tyrone v Donegal tie at Healy Park, a repeat of last year's final, along with the Derry v Monaghan (Celtic Park) and Armagh v Antrim (Crossmaglen) have also been postponed.
