Westmeath seal comeback win

Westmeath came from five points behind to score a sensational 1-9 to 1-8 win over Cavan in the All-Ireland Ladies Intermediate Football Championship final replay at Croke Park.

Cavan substitute Grainne Smith grabbed a 48th minute goal to ease her side into a 1-8 to 0-6 lead, but their challenge fell apart, and they failed to score again.

It was the Leinster side which dominated the final 10 minutes, with scores from Maud Anne Foley and Laura Brennan sparking their revival.

Brennan netted a penalty, before substitute Sarah Dolan fired over the equaliser, and captain Elaine Finn scored the late winning point which landed a first ever All-Ireland crown for the county.

And there was triumph for Wicklow in the Junior final replay. They scored aresounding 2-10 to 0-8 win over New York, with the help of second half goals from Meadbh Deeney and Lucy Mulhall.
