It was a poor day for the Irish contingent at Castle Stuart on Sunday as their challenges for the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open all fell away.

Peter Lawrie had been best placed going into the final round but a two-over-par score of 74 saw him finish six behind eventual winner Jeev Milkha Singh, who beat long-time leader Francesco Molinari in a play-off.

Shane Lowry had a better day as his 71 saw him finish 13 under, four off the lead, while Padraig Harrington shot the same to end the tournament a further shot back.
