Cormac Sharvin still in contention for Open place after strong performance
Cormac Sharvin is still in contention for a place at the Open after a strong performance on day three of the Irish Open.
The Ardglass golfer finished on 66 on Saturday after scoring -4 to lie in joint seventh with France's Mike Lorenzo-Vera.
As it stands Sharvin would qualify for the Open by virtue of being the third ranked player in the standings without a place in the tournament already secured.
However Sunday will be the deciding day for the 26-year-old as he chases qualification for Royal Portrush.
Speaking after he said that he would be taking it "one shot at a time".
"The crowds were great," he said.
"When you play in front of Irish crowds it's always unbelievable, I haven't played in front of many, but it's just a pleasure."
