Darren Clarke talks captaining Ryder Cup team and capturing heart of a former Miss Northern Ireland in rare joint interview with Alison Campbell for UTV
Darren Clarke and his wife Alison Campbell are appearing in a rare joint interview for UTV.
The couple, who met on a blind date, set up by fellow golfer Graeme McDowell, will appear with Pamela Ballantine on Friday at 10.50pm.
Darren and Alison will discuss everything from the details of their first date, marriage, juggling family life, Miss Northern Ireland and of course Darren’s captaincy of this year’s European Ryder Cup team.
In a candid interview Darren will talk about his dreams as young boy of one day winning the Claret Jug, a dream realised in 2011 when he was crowned The Open Championship winner.
With only a matter of months to go before the Ryder Cup 2016 kicks off in Minnesota, Darren discusses everything from transport and logistics to the hopes of this year’s team.
Alison, a successful businesswoman in her own right, is set to reveal how she spent over a decade working in a somewhat more conventional job before entering the modelling world before going on to be crowned Miss Northern Ireland in 1982.
She has since built one of Northern Ireland’s most acclaimed businesses, ACA Models.
Involved in organising the Miss Northern Ireland event for the last 30 years Alison chats to host Pamela about how 2016 is set to once again draw some of the region’s most beautiful and talented young women to take part as well as her role in the Ryder Cup as the captain's wife.
The full interview will be on UTV Life on Friday, May 13 at 10.50pm.
