Padraig Harrington shot a disappointing three-over par 76 to fall out of contention on the final day of the Volvo Golf Champions.

The three-time major winner was just three shots behind the leaders on seven under going into Sunday's fourth round but ended up eight shots back of eventual winner Branden Grace who became the first player since Fred Couples in 1995 to follow his first European Tour win with another.

Grace, who only last month was at the qualifying school, beat two of his golfing heroes in Ernie Els and Retief Goosen with a birdie on the first play-off hole to secure the title after the three men had finished on 12 under.

Northern Irishman Darren Clarke shot a 76 on Sunday to finish one under while Michael Hoey capped off a terrible tournament with an 82 to finish 16 over.
