Cormac Sharvin and Ruaidhri McGee handed entries to Irish Open
Ardglass golfer Cormac Sharvin and Londonderry's Ruaidhri McGee will both tee it up at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open hosted by the Rory Foundation next week.
The pair received invites to the event by Team Ireland Golf as the two Irish players with the highest playing category not already in the field for Ballyliffin.
Sharvin, 25, and McGee, 27, are both on the European Challenge Tour, but next week the pair will get the chance to step up a level and compete on the European Tour.
Sharvin's best finish this season saw him finish tied-15th at the Challenge de Espana, while McGee - who will play in his third European Tour event this season at the Irish Open - finished tied-fourth at the Swiss Challenge.
Team Ireland, who are supported by Sport Ireland, promote young golfers through their formative years and were given two invites for next week's tournament.
Last year, Team Ireland invite Gavin Moynihan won €84,505 after he finished inside the top-15 at Portstewart.
Moynihan himself revealed on Twitter that he too has been invited to the Irish Open next week - although not by Team Ireland - and will take his place in the field in Donegal.
