Donaldson goes three clear

Jamie Donaldson birdied the short 14th at Royal Portrush to take a three-shot lead at the Irish Open.

Rafael Cabrera-Bello had the chance to apply even more pressure on Donaldson - leading by one at the time - on the long 17th, but instead he bogeyed it and Donaldson's birdie at the 14th - the hole known as "Calamity Corner" - put him three clear.

He still had work to do, though, and Fabrizio Zanotti reduced the gap to two when he did birdie the 17th from over 25 feet.

Donaldson followed with a 10-footer for birdie on the 15th and at three clear his maiden title was in sight.
