We were on the course with the main men as the event tees off at Portstewart Golf Club

By Adam McKendry and Gareth Hanna

Welcome to our live blog from some featured groups on day one of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open at Portstewart Golf Club.

During the afternoon, we were out with Rory McIlroy, Paul Dunne and Hideki Matsuyama and Jon Rahm.

After a a level-par 72, McIlroy finished eight shots off the lead shared by American Daniel Im and France's Benjamin Hebert.

We started the day on course with Graeme McDowell, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood, who tee off on the 10th at 8.20am and keeping an eye on Shane Lowry, Padraig Harrington and Miguel Angel Jimenez who are playing either side of our featured group.
