This year’s Northern Ireland Amateur Open at Galgorm Castle has received backing and support from Niall Horan and Modest! Golf.

This year’s competition is 36-hole strokeplay and takes place on Tuesday, July 17, at the Ballymena venue, one week after the the North of Ireland Championship at Royal Portrush.

Knock’s Colin Fairweather overcame fellow Irish international and former champion Tiarnon McLarnon and Boys international Thomas Mulligan in a play-off to win last year’s Open. Previous winners include former Walker Cup player Cormac Sharvin, former Irish internationals Reeve Whitson, Dermot McElroy and current leading amateur Tiarnan McLarnon.
