Hopes of a Northern Irish winner at the NI Open were hit during Saturday's third round as Cormac Sharvin could only card a level par 71.

The Ardglass golfer had started the day just one shot off the lead but goes into Sunday's final round six shots behind Victor Perez and Scotland's Scott Henry.

Sharvin was -2 for the day at the turn but back to back bogeys at 10 and 11 were followed by a drop shot at 16 and only a birdie on the last hole got him back to -10 for the week.

Jonathan Caldwell also shot a level par round to stay at -8, where he is joined by Dermot McElroy, who shot 67.

Joint-leader Henry carded a 64 to tie the lowest round of the week, making eight birdies and one bogey on his way to a -16 total going into Sunday.

The leaders tee off at 11.40am at Galgorm on Sunday morning, Sharvin off at 11.10am alongside Reinier Saxton.
