Padraig Harrington forced to withdraw from PGA event after getting hit by amateur golfer's practice swing
Padraig Harrington has suffered one of the more bizarre injuries of his golfing career after withdrawing from a PGA tournament with an injured elbow after getting hit by a practice swing.
The three-time Major champion took to social media today to reveal that he needed six stitches on his elbow after being hit by an amateur golfer he had been coaching. Harrington also added that he initially thought it was the end of his competitive golf career.
The Dubliner was preparing to take part in the FedEx St Jude Classic when the incident occured.
The 45-year-old says he expects to be back in action in 12 days.
