Royal Belfast golfer Aoife Moore carded a superb 42 points to win the ILGU Junior Medal Final at Seapoint Golf Club.

The 28-handicapper beat off 46 other qualifiers from across Ireland to claim gold ahead of Portarlington's Jiaren Eina Pang.

Aoife went to the turn in 19 points and improved on the back nine, carding a further 23 points to win by four.

Four-handicapper Olivia McCrystal (Holywood) took home a silver medal with 31 gross points, while Julie McGrath (Milltown) shot an impressive 40 points off a handicap of 28 to take home the bronze medal.

Meanwhile, Thomas Higgins (Roscommon) has a one shot lead heading into today's final round of the Ulster Boys Championship at Royal Portrush (Valley Links).

The 15-year old posted a second round two-under par 69 yesterday to edge clear of Alex Maguire (Laytown & Bettystown).

Dundalk's Eoin Murphy carded the low round of the tournament, a bogey free seven birdie 64 to move into a share of fourth alongside Joshua McCabe (Roganstown) on two-under.

The leading Ulster hopes are Keaton Morrison (Greenacres) and Lisburn's Jack Shellard on one-under par after two rounds.
