All you need to know about buying tickets for Royal Portrush's 2019 Open Championship

The thrilling finale to this year's tournament has certainly whetted the appetite for the 2019 Open Championship, which will arrive at Royal Portrush in July next year.

If you've got the bug, you can already make sure you secure your place at the 148th Open Championship as organisers the R&A have put tickets up for sale earlier than ever before.

Be quick though, 20% of the allocation sold out within 48 hours of going on sale. Organisers said it was the fastest selling ticket launch in the history of the event. It is expected the tournament will mark the very first time The Open will sell out.

The last time the Open took place in Northern Ireland was way back in 1951, when Max Faulkner won the historic Claret Jug at Royal Portrush.

What are the dates again?

The tournament tees off proper on Thursday, July 18 with the final day on Sunday, July 21. Before that, the practice days begin on Sunday, July 14.

How much are the tickets?

Well that all depends on which day or days you want to go on. Tickets for the first practice days can be bought for as little as £15 for adults (Sunday), ranging up to £30 (Wednesday).

For the tournament days, you'll be pay £60 for a Thursday or Friday adult tickets and £70 for the weekend days.

Are there any full week or weekend packages?

Funny you should ask that - there are! A full week ticket will set you back £230 for an adult or you can get a weekend (Saturday and Sunday) pass for £115 for an adult.

What about youths and juniors?

Juniors (Under 16s) go FREE when accompanied by a paying adult.

If you're aged 16-24, you get some discount. Your prices are as follows: Practice days: £10-£20, Thursday/Friday: £30, Saturday/Sunday: £35, Full week: £110, Weekend: £60.

And car parking?

The Open offer parking at their park and ride facilities for £15 per day (Wednesday - Sunday) or £10 for the early practice days. A week's parking is £60 per day and the weekend pass is £25. Make sure to book your spot when you're buying your tickets.
