Golfing legends Tom Watson and Nick Faldo said an emotional farewell to the Open Championship at St Andrews after a rain-interrupted second round which left Tiger Woods struggling to make the cut.
Watson, 65, and Faldo, 58, received fitting ovations on what will be their last appearance at their favourite major after they missed the cut.
The American finished late last night on 12 over par after his two rounds, following an 80, while Faldo hit a 71 ending up 10 over.
The two greats, with eight Open titles between them, enjoyed their final round at the Old Course, but for Woods it was another tough day. He was five over after 11 holes of his second round when play was suspended due to fading light. Woods, and others who didn't finish their rounds, returned to do so this morning. The cut mark was projected at one over. Graeme McDowell was sitting on level par and Darren Clarke one under after 13 holes.
