Watch: Rory McIlroy blasts driver over the back of US PGA Championship practice range
Our man is PUMPED ahead of the final major of the season
Rory McIlroy showed he is well equipped to overpower any golf course on the practice ground at the US PGA Championship.
The Holywood golfer is still looking for his first win of the season and, judging by the tracker at the Quail Hollow range, that winless run is nothing to do with his driver.
In fact, the practice ground wasn't long enough as McIlroy carried his three-wood 331 yards and then loaded up the big stick and smashed it 350 on the fly, into the trees out the back of the range. The furthest he managed to carry his driver was 365 yards. The range is slightly downhill but nonetheless, it certainly was a display of pure power by the world number four.

Rory has twice won the US PGA Championship but his 2014 success was the last time he has won a major championship. This season has, of course, brought much frustration and some turmoil as he parted ways with long-time caddie JP Fitzgerald and this week has life-long friend Harry Diamond on the bag.
