Belfast Telegraph Girls Senior Schools Cup semi-final draw: Holders Banbridge face potential tie against rivals
The draw for the Belfast Telegraph Girls Senior Schools Cup has taken place, throwing up another potential meeting between Banbridge Academy and Sullivan Upper.
Holders Banbridge are still to play their quarter-final tie against Armagh Royal but, should they make it through to the final four unscathed, they will against be pitted against the team that beat them in the 2015 decider.
Sullivan also won when the two teams met in the 2016 semi-finals but the Academy finally got the better of their Holywood opponents last year, when they won another semi-final tie between the pair 2-1.
Six-times winners Armagh Royal, however, will be keen to continue their quest for a first title since 2010. RSA meet Banbridge at Havelock Park in the outstanding quarter-final tomorrow (Thursday).
This year's second semi-final will see Friends School, Lisburn take on Rainey Endowed. Friends haven't won the trophy since 1999 while Rainey have made it to two finals but lost both, most recently in 2014.
The semi-finals will take place at Playball (Stormont) next Wednesday (February 21) at 1.30pm and 3pm.
