Alex Speers scored twice for Pegasus in the Ulster Shield final.

Pegasus surrendered a two-goal lead but managed to steady their nerves in time to beat Belfast Harlequins on penalty shuffles in the Denman Ulster Shield's thrilling festive final.

It's Pegasus' 29th Ulster Shield success but their first since 2011.

Alex Speers had put the eventual winners ahead after just three minutes at Comber Road and she managed to double her tally and her side's lead from a well-taken short corner before half-time.

Jenna Watt halved that deficit on 45 minutes and Quins were level just five minutes later, Abigail Edwards converting a short-corner of her own.

The sides forced two short corner each in the closing stages but all were successfully defended, sending the game to penalty shuffles, which went to sudden death before Pegasus finally got the win.
