Irish maestro Fulton lands world's top coach award
Ireland coach Craig Fulton has been named world hockey's Coach of the Year after a particularly successful 2015.
Fulton learned of his award just 24 hours after Irish custodian David Harte was named world hockey's Goalkeeper of the Year.
South African Fulton certainly changed the fortunes of the Green Machine since his return to Dublin almost two years ago.
He has overseen an historic period when the team had an unbeaten run through World League 2, an all-time high of fifth place at World League 3, which booked the coveted place for the Rio Olympics, and European bronze medals.
"It's an honour and a privilege to accept this from the world's governing body and from my fellow coaching peers," said Fulton on his return from a training camp with the Irish men in Cape Town.
"For the support from my family and the Irish men's staff and players, this is our award for an unforgettable year."
