Ireland are still without a win in their four-match series with Chile after drawing the second game 2-2 in Santiago.

Graham Shaw's team were just 90 seconds away from securing their first victory after drawing their opener 0-0, only to be denied by a late equaliser.

The Irish coach said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for our new players to show what they are about and we are enjoying the challenge."

A defensive error let the South Americans in to break the deadlock in the 24th minute when Francisca Tala scored with a first-time shot.

Pegasus midfielder Ruth Maguire, one of six Ulster players in the squad, set up Sarah Hawkshaw for the equaliser shortly after the break and then Lena Tice made it 2-1 from the penalty spot.

But the hosts grabbed the equaliser with 90 seconds left when Denise Krimerman converted a penalty corner.
