Lisnagarvey added the Anderson Cup to their EY Hockey League title when they thrashed local rivals Banbridge 3-1 in Monday evening's final at Havelock Park.

Garvey took an early lead when James Lorimer converted a penalty corner and it was two when Ben Nelson scored from open play.

Bann captain Eugene Magee gave the hosts hope when he netted from a penalty corner to make it 2-1 at the break.

However, there was to be no joy for Banbridge in their final match under departing head coach Mark Tumilty as Matthew Nelson clinched the victory for the visitors.

It's the first time Garvey have won the trophy since the 2007/08 season.
