Former Ireland captain Alex Speers inspired Pegasus to a 3-1 comeback win over Pembroke Wanderers with two superb goals at the Dub yesterday.
The result completed a perfect weekend for last season's EYHL runners-up, who had beaten the Ulster Elks 6-2 on Saturday at Jordanstown.
Pegasus coach Ali McNeill said: "We couldn't have asked for a better start especially as we lost the corresponding game to Pembroke last season."
Erika Hinkson fired the Dublin side in front from the first penalty-corner of the game in the 21st minute, but Pegasus replied almost immediately when Speers finished clinically from another set-piece. Rosie Henderson made it 2-1 in the 28th minute after being set up by Stephanie Thompson, who had switched the ball across the face of goal.
Six minutes from half-time, Speers got her second when she swept the ball home after an excellent passing move.
Unfortunately, it was a tale of woe for the three other Ulster teams, who finished the weekend without a single point on the board.
Belfast Harlequins at least restored some pride after a heavy 10-1 opening loss to champions Hermes-Monkstown, going down 2-0 to Railway Union in a closer contest yesterday.
Ards lost 5-2 to Hermes after a 4-0 defeat by UCD and the Elks went down 3-0 at home to Cork Harlequins.
