Ulster Elks coach Ricky Lee will be keeping a close eye on the weather forecast today as his side prepare for tonight's crunch Premier League clash with champions Pegasus at Jordanstown.

If the game bites the dust due to frost like Saturday's top-flight programme, the Elks are likely to be at a disadvantage when it does takes place in the New Year.

That's because their Ireland players, Shirley McCay and Megan Frazer, will only be available for a limited period after Christmas due to international commitments.

In contrast, while those two players are certain to be selected for the World League 2 tournament and the build-up, Pegasus have only one international in Vanessa Surgeoner.

"I don't see it as a must-win, even though we've dropped a point more than them," said Lee. "It's equally important to beat the so-called smaller teams and we failed in that regard when we drew with Ballymoney."
