The Belfast Giants made it four wins in a row as they downed the Fife Flyers 4-1 in Kirkcaldy to move up to fourth in the Elite League standings.

Kevin Raine got his first goal of the season, Liam Reddox snapped a five-game scoreless streak and Matt Pelech grabbed his fourth of the campaign, with goaltender Shane Owen making 33 saves in the victory.

Jean Dupuy controversially had a goal chalked off when Fife netminder Adam Morrison knocked the net off its moorings, but Raine put the Giants ahead at 16:04 when he turned and slotted in at the crease.

The lead was doubled at 30:32 when Reddox ripped one in on the odd-man rush, however Danick Gauthier made it a one-goal game at 35:28 when he fired high past Owen on the 5-on-3.

There was more controversy when both sides had would-be goals washed out for the net coming off its moorings.

Owen made an excellent stop late in the third, saving from James Livingston, before Pelech decided it by tipping in Ciaran Long's shot with 3:52 left, and Bobby Farnham added an empty netter.
