Keefe tells Giants it's time to step up as season draws to end

By Stuart McKinley

Adam Keefe wants his Belfast Giants players to 'step-up' and start to target a second piece of silverware.

And with the Play-offs looming he wants to see his men snap into a knockout-style mentality in what remains of the regular season.

Three games inside five days will see the Giants complete their league season by next Sunday, before Play-off quarter-finals over Easter weekend. Back-to-back home defeats against the Cardiff Devils - who claimed the Elite League title with a 3-2 win in Belfast - and Fife Flyers on Friday and Saturday night mean the Giants have lost three of their five games since winning the Challenge Cup two weeks ago.

Keefe is promising changes ahead of Wednesday's game against Milton Keynes Lightning.

"We need to make adjustments and we'll be looking to get a response," said Keefe. "That's all we can do. The league is out of reach. It's gone, the conference is gone, so right now it is about our seeding finishing as high as possible."
