Great Britain international Ben Lake grabbed a double as the Belfast Giants stayed undefeated in pre-season with a 5-1 win over Danish side Herning Blue Fox at the SSE Arena.

Lake fired home 10:51 into the second period after some good work by Liam Reddox and Paul Swindlehurst before wrapping up the scoring with 2:24 remaining having been set up beautifully by Patryk Wronka.

Wronka himself got his first Giants goal with 2:52 left in the game after tapping in at the back door following a stunning pass from Jordan Smotherman, who had gone top shelf at 11:32 of the final period for the third, his second strike of pre-season.

Winger Liam Morgan also opened his account in teal when he started the scoring at 10:51 of the first, finishing off a great move started by Lewis Hook and Matt Pelech.

Stephen Murphy got the start in nets and made 20 saves in a stellar outing, beaten just once when Cameron Brace ripped home a one-timer on the 5-on-3 powerplay to level it up for Herning at 13:30 of the first period.
