The Belfast Giants were honoured for their double success last night with a civic reception at City Hall, along with the graduating members of their Odyssey Ice Academy.

The newly-crowned Elite League and Challenge Cup champions were congratulated by Lord Mayor Deirdre Hargey on their recent success, receiving the Mayor's Certificate for their achievements.

"I think it's just as important that, after all this time after the Giants were formed, we acknowledge the contribution they make to sport in this city both on and off the ice," said councillor Hargey.

Adam Keefe's Giants are aiming to make it a rare Grand Slam of trophies should they win the play-offs, which begin this weekend when they face the Coventry Blaze at the SSE Arena.
