Belfast Giants' Slater Doggett steps in after Glasgow Clan’s Mitch Jones hits Belfast Giants’ David Goodwin

Had the officials decided that his tussle with Mitch Jones at the end of Sunday’s 5-1 win over the Glasgow Clan at the SSE Arena constituted a fight, then Belfast Giants centre Slater Doggett would have completed the Gordie Howe hat-trick of a goal, an assist and a fight in one game.

Instead, Doggett went unpunished for his role — not that he’s complaining — and will have to settle for another fine offensive performance for the Giants in helping them move to 11-5-0 on the season, which has them 11 points behind the Sheffield Steelers but with four games in hand.
