Manchester City have £18m Jonny Evans bid knocked back

Manchester City have had their £18m bid for Northern Ireland international Jonny Evans rejected by West Midlands club West Bromwich Albion.

The BBC is reporting that City have had two offers turned down for the central defender.

Evans, who serves as West Brom's captain, played for City's rivals Manchester United for nine years before moving to West Brom in 2015, and has two years left on his deal with the club.

His time with United came to an end under the tenure of Louis Van Gaal, who said that Evans did not feature in his plans for the club.

Previous bids for the player from Arsenal and Leicester have also been rejected.
