McDermott: Title talk on ice for now
Glentoran boss Mick McDermott has revealed title talk is not on the agenda at the Oval but appreciates that may change if the east Belfast outfit continue their recent impressive form.
The Glens have won six and drawn one of their last seven league games and, now sat in fifth, they are just five points adrift of top spot and face Coleraine, Crusaders and Linfield this month.
"It's nice to hear that people think we could be title contenders but we haven't mentioned it amongst the players or the staff," said McDermott, who has been named the Northern Ireland Football Writers' Association Manager of the Month for November.
"It's not on the radar at the moment but if we get through this month picking up points and others drop points and we are still close come January then it will be interesting."
On travelling to Coleraine tomorrow, McDermott stated: "They are a good team and we are going to have to be on top of our game.
"We have Crusaders after that and Linfield on Boxing Day so it shows what a massive month it is going to be for everyone.
"From where we have been in the past and where we are now it's great but goodwill can disappear in three weeks if you don't get results."
