Mid Ulster are all out to make noise with Boomer title
Mid Ulster's Seamus Kyne insists his team's reputation will count for nothing in tomorrow's IIBA Men's Inter-zone final at Killyman.
Even though they've had their hands on the Boomer Cup a record 10 times, Mid Ulster go into a showdown with holders Oriel as slight underdogs.
It will be Oriel's fifth successive final appearance. They made the trophy their own for the past two years, but suffered defeats by Mid Ulster and Armagh before that.
Kyne said: "We usually carry the pressure of being favourites, so this will be entirely different for us going into the final. Oriel have been the consistent team in recent years.
"I'm sure they'll need no reminding of the last time we played them in the final, back in 2012. They looked to have the match wrapped up, but collapsed dramatically.
"Oriel have benefited from an aggressive strategy and the game could be decided by how our front players cope."
Oriel's Gerry McCabe reckons it could be one of the tightest finals for some time.
"It will be difficult," he said. "This will be our fifth final in a row, so we have that experience. It's our trophy at the minute and we'll be doing our best to hold on to it."
