It was an easy decision to stick with JTR: Harper
Daniel Harper is to continue racing with the JTR team for his second season in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB series in 2019.
It was inevitable 18-year-old Harper would attract interest from other teams for the second year of his £160,000 Porsche junior scholarship after a debut season in which he scored two victories but set more poles and fastest laps than anyone else.
However, he has elected to stay with JTR, run by former Le Mans winner Nick Tandy.
"We had some good offers, but after a brilliant year together it was an easy decision," explained the Dromore High School student. "The team is full of great people and their support, hard work and attention to detail was key to my development through my maiden Porsche season."
Tandy said: "Daniel is a sensational prospect and tying things up for him to re-join JTR in 2019 has been of high importance for us ever since the season ended."
Next season Harper will again share ITV4 coverage of the TOCA weekends with the stars of the British Touring Car Championship including fellow Ulster drivers Colin Turkington, the champion, and Chris Smiley.
