Jonathan Rea has ended the season with the most individual victories after completing a hat-trick of successes in Qatar.

The Ballyclare rider claimed Friday evening's opening race and backed it up with Superpole success on Saturday.

That teed up the treble clincher as he held off the challenge of old rival Chas Davies and Bautista, who completed the podium.

It took Rea's win tally to 17 for the season, the same number he gathered in 2018, although the addition of the Superpole outing at each meeting gave him significantly more opportunities this time round.

Give the Bautista dominated the opening four meetings of the season, it's been a stunning turnaround.

Rea had the individual championship sewn up with two rounds to spare and added the manufacturers' title with his win on Friday.

His Saturday double took his final winning margin to 165 points from Bautista.

"It's been a dream season and I've achieved a career goal of finishing every single race in the points," he told the BBC.
