Dunlop and Kneen headline Easter's Enkalon Trophy entry

By Paul Lindsay

William Dunlop and Dan Kneen lead the entry list for Easter Saturday's 40th Enkalon Trophy motorcycle road racing event (April 15).

The Motor Cycle Road Racing Club of Ireland have received almost 240 entries for the season opener.

Unfortunately, last year's event had to be abandoned so the promoting club are hoping for some favourable weather. The two legs of the Superbike races double up for the Enkalon Trophy and will see a new winner this year as no previous winners have entered.

The total prize fund for the overall two legs of the Enkalon Trophy races is £3,600.

The official charity will once again be Northern Ireland Chest, Heart & Stroke, with the event supported by Charles Hurst Hyundai Dundonald, Walter Bell Oil Fired Boilers Carrickfergus, and Slemish Water Coolers.

In other news, Flybe, Europe's largest regional airline, have added three special flights to link Belfast City and the Isle of Man to accommodate the demand from fans wanting to attend the week-long TT Festival, taking place between June 3 and 10.

Vincent Hodder, Flybe's Chief Revenue Officer, commented: "Whenever possible, we are always pleased to help accommodate the additional demand for travel from sports fans wanting to attend key fixtures.

"Flybe is all about connecting communities, and our additional new flights from Belfast City to the Isle of Man will help Northern Ireland sport enthusiasts to travel to the world-renowned annual motorcycle races as quickly and conveniently as possible, so they have as much time as possible to enjoy all the action."
