Irish marshals are up to speed with safety drills

The Dundrod & District Motorcycle Club, promoters of the Ulster Grand Prix, have hosted an in-depth training session for marshals and officials who attend road races across the island of Ireland.

The three-hour session, which took place in UGP David Wood House and the paddock at Dundrod, included best practice in radio communications, incident scene preservation, alcometer training, fire fighting and first aid training.

Ken Stewart, Secretary of the Dundrod & District Motorcycle Club, said: "Safety is always a primary concern and we were glad to host this important session on behalf of the MCUI.

"We invested significantly into improvements to the paddock and pits area over the past 12 months. I am confident the training received by this group of marshals will be of benefit not just to our event, but to the wider road racing community."
