Jonathan Rea takes lead in Superbike Championship after Bautista crashes again
Jonathan Rea has taken the lead in the World Superbike Championship for the first time this season after a win at Donington Park on Saturday.
Rea has trailed Spaniard Alvaro Bautista all season but finally overtook him after he crashed out of fifth position, his third crash in row.
Bautista found himself well in front after winning the first ten races of the season, but now finds himself behind Ballynure rider Rea by nine points.
Rea won the race ahead of Tom Sykes in second place and Leon Haslam in third.
The Ulsterman will be back in action tomorrow in Sunday's Superpole and 23-lap races.
