Kennedy is excited to meet fans at NI Bike Fest

By Roy Harris

British Supersport champion Jack Kennedy, who won the Cornmarket Best Irish Rider on UK Short Circuits for 2018 award, will be one of the guests at the Blackhorse NI Bike Fest in the Eikon Exhibition Centre, Balmoral Park, Lisburn today and tomorrow.

Kennedy will be appearing alongside British Superbike rider and two-time Sunflower Trophy winner Danny Buchan.

Kennedy said: "I'm looking forward to meeting everyone in the relaxed atmosphere of the festival. It's not like during the race meetings when things can be a bit hectic and at times, under pressure, we riders can be a bit anti-social."

The festival has a wide-ranging appeal from new 2019 motorcycles exhibited by the majority of Northern Ireland's main motorcycle dealers through to the kart racing fraternity.

There will also be a range of motorcycling accessories, supporters' club stands from the North West 200 and Ulster Grand Prix and much more.

Outdoor activities include stunt shows and trial demonstrations.

Scottish racing brothers Tarran and Taylor Mackenzie will visit tomorrow and Sunday.

Tarran (Taz) produced some brilliant results for the McAms Yamaha team in BSB last season, so much so that he is expected to be among the leading contenders this campaign.

Taylor rode under the Bathams BMW colours of Michael Rutter since halfway through last season, having vacated the Ducati British Superbike team.

The festival opens at 2pm today and you can pay at the door if you don't have a ticket.
