Clerk of the Course Bill Kennedy has hailed the news that Ballymoney company Tilesplus will be returning as sponsors of this year’s Armoy Road Races Senior Classics race.

Armoy, which was cancelled last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, is back on the calendar this year and will be staged on Friday, July 30 and Saturday, July 31 — albeit with limited spectators and strict protocols in place.

Tilesplus is a family-owned business which specialises in tiles, bathroom furniture and sanitary ware plus a huge range of exterior tiles, and returns to sponsor at Armoy for the second year.

Kennedy said: “We’re so pleased that Tilesplus has agreed to come back on board as sponsors this year.

“Without the support of local businesses, the Armoy Road Races wouldn’t be able to take place so we’re very grateful to each and every one of our sponsors.

“Preparations are in full swing and although proceedings will be slightly different this year due to the coronavirus restrictions, we’re really looking forward to it and feel so privileged to be able to host it.”

Lindsay O’Neill, owner of Tilesplus, added: “Motorcycle racing is very much in my blood. After the challenges of the past year, I’m delighted that the Armoy Road Races are able to take place.
