North West 200 specialist Alastair Seeley has joined GR Motorsport for this year's Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship.

Seeley will ride GR's Kawasaki ZX10RR in the Championship, which is part of the support schedule to the British Superbike Championship.

Fans will get their first look at Seeley on his new machine when he first competes on it at Donington Park from March 31 to April 2.

The ZX10 is one of the top bikes on the circuit this season, with many viewing it as the early favourite heading into this year's Championship.

Carrick racer Seeley (38), who won the Superstock Championship in 2009 with the Relentless TAS Suzuki team, says he's itching to get started.

"A new team and crew is an exciting prospect and one I can't wait to get involved with," said Seeley.

"The bike proved itself last year and with more performance for 2018 and a determined flyweight rider like myself onboard, things are looking good.

"I am very happy to be joining Team WD-40/STAUFF Quick Connect Academy onboard the Kawasaki ZX10RR for another go at the Superstock 1000 Championship that I won in 2009 and was runner-up in 2015.

"I had a great time meeting the guys at STAUFF Ireland in Lisburn last week - it's good to have these guys behind our race effort.

"I hope to get testing under way in the next few weeks at UK tracks to familiarise ourselves with current temperatures and things that resemble what we could be faced with at round one at Donington Park over the Easter weekend."

The announcement comes hot on the heels of Seeley's decision to stick with Tyco BMW for this year's North West 200, continuing their highly successful partnership that saw him reach 21 career wins around The Triangle last summer.
